Funeral services for Bert Edward Decker were held Tuesday morning, July 25, 1967 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church in Burlington with Fr. Lawrence Kelley officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Lawrence Decker, Paul Decker, Wesley Hunter, Albert Skillman, James Moritz, Charles DeLaye and Raymond Stewart. Active casket bearers were Leo Decker, Eldon Garrett, Frank Decker jr., Lester Decker, Arley Garrett and Francis Burdick.

Interment was in Calvary cemetery.

Bert was born October 28, 1887 at Hartford, to Martin Decker and Barbara Wise Decker. He lived most of his life in the Burlington community.

He was married to Maude Garrett on June 5, 1917 and they were the parents of eight children.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Decker at home; two sons, Lawrence Decker, Eureka and Paul Decker, Wichita; six daughters, Mrs. Aileen Skillman, Burlington; Reta Decker, Topeka; Mrs. Ella May Hunter, Edmond, Okla.; Mrs. Agnes DeLaye, St. Marys; Mrs. Darlene Moritz, Belton, Mo.; and Mrs. Janice Stewart, Norwich, Conn., 31 grandchildren and one great grandchild, two daughters-in-law, five sons-in-law and two grandchildren by marriage.

Also susrvived by four brothers, Joe, Frank and Thomas of Burlington and Jake, Topeka; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Shull, Montclair, Calif.; Mrs. Flora Riebel, Oroville, Calif.; Mrs. Emma Gorman, Twin Falls, Ida.; and Josie Decker and Mrs. Susie Krueger both of Burlington and many other relatives and friends.
