Bryce D. Pease, 83 years old, a Quartz Valley resident passed away at Madrone Hospice, Yreka, CA on December 15, 2008.
Bryce was born in Oil Trough, Arkansas on August 27, 1925. Before the age of 10, Bryce moved with his family to Sacramento Valley during the Dust Bowl and the Depression.
On February 14, 1944 Bryce married the love of his life, Betty Brown. They were happily married until her death October 25, 2005.
Bryce served in the US Navy from March 23, 1943 to his discharge on December 8, 1945.
Bryce worked for the Weed Lumber Company which became Long Bell and then International Paper Company. He was an accountant there for 35 years.
Bryce was a very straight forward and honest man. He was proud that he never got a ticket while driving or anything else. He was loved by those who knew him even if it was just for a short time. Bryce enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Eddies and Marble Mountains.
Bryce is survived by his three children, James Pease of Idaho, Thomas Pease of Quartz Valley, CA and Susan E. Boston of Lake Shastina, CA. There are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services and internment will be today, December 17 at the Fort Jones Cemetery. The time will be 2 p.m.
