Wilma J. Winkler, 92, of Creston died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. Wilma was born in Creston on July 19, 1916 to Albert and Jessie (Hoopes) Jeffers and married Harry F. Winkler on June 28, 1941. He died Oct. 26, 2006.

She taught school in Wadsworth for over 20 years and was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. She had made her home on Hartman Rd. in Wadsworth where she was a member of the Homemaker's Club and was active in the PTA.

Surviving are two children, Michael (Gloria) Winkler of Mt. Eaton and Cathy (Jim) Buckingham of Wadsworth; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Wanda Pyers of Louisville, Selma Royer of Thornville, Winifred Ferguson of Columbus and Ruth Pekar of Pensacola, FL; and two brothers, Jim Jeffers of Creston and Bernard Jeffers of Bellfountain.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Edward Kropa officiating. Burial will be in Seville Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Apostolic Christian Home, 10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH 44270.
