Samuel N. Rhoads, 92, formerly of 466 N. Miami Street, died at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday at Wabash Healthcare Center. He had been in failing health for five years.
He was born on June 19, 1901, in Wabash to Richard and Lena (Lasonde) Rhoads.
Mr. Rhoads retired from the Wabash Foundry after 55 years service. He was a life member of the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are one son, William L. Rhoads, Angola; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary Jane) Leeka, Diana, Texas, Mrs. Irvena Saunders, Angola, and Mrs. Edna Twigg, Wabash; one brother, Norman Rhoads, Plymouth; five sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Laketon, Mrs. Carmen Demmings, Arkansas, Mrs. Willodean Staggs, Lagro, Mrs. Leenell Scott, Muncie, and Mrs. Ruthetta Jines, Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. three sons and one brother are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary. The Rev. Terrie Hay will officiate. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of services Saturday at the mortuary.

The Rev. Terrie Hay officiated. Cindy Alvarado was the organist. Burial was in Friends Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Brown, Keith Leach, Ben Leach, Matthew Payton, Brian Payton and David Bolinger.
