DARWIN D. SCHOCH

DARWIN D. SCHOCH, 86, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday,
Jan. 14, 2009, at Dupont Hospital. Born June 3, 1922, in Arcola, he was a VB 108 Bomber with the Naval Squadron during World War II. He retired from International Harvester after 32 years of service, in 1978. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 47 where he served in various offices,
one of which was Post Commander.

Surviving are his wife, Fontella M.; daughter, Francella (Lee) Nichols of Warsaw; son, Eldon (Peggy) Schoch of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. The Rev. David Altman officiating. Visitation is from 2 to4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, with graveside military service conducted by American Legion Post 47. Preferred memorials to American Legion Post 47.
