Funeral services for Charles McArthur Cobb, Sr. of Vienna will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, 2009 at Northern Heights Baptist Church in Cordele. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Dooly County.

Mr. Cobb, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was born in Crisp County and was the son of the late Andrew J. and Sabra Coleman Cobb. A veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force, Mr. Cobb was a retired electrician and a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary H. Cobb of Vienna; four children and their spouses, Sandra Cobb Edwards of Plains, Charles M. Jr. and Lila Cobb, of Cordele, David A. and Sherry Cobb of Desoto and Kathy and Tony Turner of Vienna; two sisters, Sabra Williams of California and Claudia Herrington and her husband, Marvin of Canton; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Paul and Lynnette Edwards, Phillip Edwards, Casey Cobb, Cedric and Heather Cobb, Seth and Jessica Cobb, Lori and Allen Ellenberg, Katrina and Eric Richter, Amanda Cofty, Jimbo and Allison Varnum, Matt and Heather Turner, and Mark Turner; and ten great-grandchildren, Shelbi Cobb, Taylor Jeffers, Tucker Ellenberg, Haley Cobb, Landon Cobb, Chance Richter, Alex Richter, Abbi Richter, Cody Cofty, and Jackson Turner.
