After failed attempts to locate his family, the military made an 'administrative decision' to him in buried at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville, KY when his body was returned to the States.
Gordon's father William was one-half Osage & Quapaw, therefore, Gordon and his siblings were a fourth. He is listed as such on the Osage Tribal records.
