Ena S. Littlefield, the daughter of Alonzo F. and
Sarah Edwards Littlefield, was born southeast of
Exira in Audubon County, Iowa and died at the
Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan, Iowa at the
age of 94 years, 3 months, and 6 days.
She attended Audubon County Schools, studied
music at a normal training school in Shenandoah,
Iowa, and attended Highland Park College in Des
Moines, Iowa. She taught school in Exira
Township Schools. She later worked in Des
Moines as a secretary. In the early 1930s she
moved back to Exira and operated a bee-keeping
business with her brother Roy. After her brother's
death in 1961 she retired. In 1981 she became a
resident of the Salem Home at Elk Horn, Iowa.
She was a member of the Exira Christian Church
and the Exira Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and
her brothers and sisters: Thomas Littlefield; Mrs.
Nels (Margaret) Rumelhart; Mrs. John (Minnie)
Martin; Mrs. John H. (Annie) Kilworth; Charles
Littlefield; John Littlefield; William Littlefield;
Folle Littlefield; Alice Littlefield; Roy Littlefield;
and Mrs. Cyrus (Nellie) Petersen.
Survivors include 1 brother-in-law, Cyrus Peter-
sen, of the Veterans' Home in Marshalltown, Iowa
and several nieces and nephews.
