Mr. Rhodes was born in Pond, MO. the son of Paul D. Sr., and Viola Helen (Witt) Rhodes. On Dec. 30, 1955, in Ellisville, MO. he was united in marriage to Eleanor Phyllis Weeks. She survives. Pete received his education in St. Louis County. He was employed as a machinist for Orchard Corp. in Crestwood, MO. and served in the Air Force Reserve. Before moving to Shell Knob sixteen years ago he resided in Ellisville, MO., where he was an alderman and a police officer. After his retirement he owned Uncle Pete's Ice Cream and Pete's Knife Sharpening in Shell Knob. He was a member of Lohmer Full Gospel Church in Shell Knob; Kimberling City Art Guild and Central Crossing Volunteer Fire Dept. Survivors include; one son, Paul E. Rhodes (Joyce) of Rocky Mount, MO.; one daughter, Teresa M. (Charles) Scudder of Cedar Hill, MO.; one step sister, Anna Lee Bernard of Toluca, IL; his mother-in-law, Alma Weeks of Farmington, MO.; one grandson; two step grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Elmer Lee "Sonny" Weeks of Bonne Terre, MO; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Winningham and her husband James of Citrus Springs, FL., Elizabeth Bowman and her husband, Jim of Cuba, MO and Pam Pace and her husband, John of Dittmer, MO; a childhood friend, Ron Rickard and his wife, Patricia of Shell Knob and a host of friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial was in Fields Cemetery, Shell Knob.
