The remains of Mrs. Mary Shatto Liddick, wife of the late Hiram Liddick, who died November 22 at the home of her son, were laid to rest Nov. 24th in the Hill cem., aged 75 years. She was born at Matamoris, Dauphin Co.,but came to this section in early womanhood. She is survived by three sons: James W. of Enola, Calder R. of the Beale farm, and Charlie, Benvenue and two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Huggins of Enola and Mrs. Kate Louden, residing here who have the sympathy of the citizens in the passing of mother, their best friend.
*The spelling of the family name varies. Originally Chateau when the immigrant Huguenot ancestor arrived in 1739, it became standardized as Shatto, except for several branches that went to Centre and Dauphin Counties. Individuals quite often used both or either.
