He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Paradise Township to Joseph Edward and Minnie Olivia (Rohe) Bear. He attended school in the Paradise Township.
He married Dorothy Lee (Cooper) Weinhold on April 9, 1967, in Russell. He owned and operated a tavern called "The Cub House" until 1982.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Evert Weinhold, Cincinnati, and Peary Weinhold, Kanopolis; two daughters, Cindy Bear, Wichita, and Georgia Lee Moser, Norton; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Funeral Home in Russell, KS, Friday, Jan 16, 2009. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15th. Burial followed services on Friday.
