Funeral service for Linda Mae Gorton, 65, of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:30AM Monday, April 30, 2007, at Swartz Assembly of God with Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

Ms. Gorton passed away on April 26, 2007, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of the Swartz Assembly of God. Ms. Gorton worked for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department for over 15 years and the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office for over 3 years. She was an avid fisherman and loved to play and sing music. Ms. Gorton was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Victoria L. Thompson and husband, Stephen; two grandsons, Will Aldredge and Jay Thompson all of Bryan, TX; sister, Sue Fant and husband, Bobby of Shreveport, LA; nephews, Rodney, Rickey, and Ron Lewis, and Major Fant and wife Jennifer; great nephew, John Votaw, Jr.; great great nephew, Johnathan Votaw; niece, Susan Votaw; two special friends, Peggy Brooks and Karen Bedoit; and numerous nieces, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ron Lewis, David Chaney, Gene Bedoit, Major Fant, John Votaw, and Heath Bedoit. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and Grandsons.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 6:00PM Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
