Emma Paralee "Emily" Lawson Smith was the daughter of Robert Lawson (b-6/23/1797 d-1863) and Dianna Margaret "Dicey" Wier Lawson (b-1819 Louisa County, VA d-1896 Tippah County MS). Her sibling were Henry, William, Elizabeth and Victory. On 12/27/1879 she married Alford Pearce Smith in Falkner, Tippah County, MS. Emily and Alford had 3 children: Walter Bowers Smith, Lena Ethel Smith and Thomas McIntyre Smith. Emily died June 29, 1955 in Falkner, Tippah County, MS. She and her husband are buried in the Falkner Cemetery in Falkner, Tippah County, MS
