Campbell; charge to estate; funeral at residence on 26 Oct 1908; Clergyman, Ogle; died in Atlas, TX on 25 Oct 1908; Occupation, Farmer; age 87 years; interment at Campbell Cemetery casket size 6/3 manufactured by Hall and Donahue, $100.00; burial robe $20.00; hearse $15.00; total cost $135.00.

From records of Elizabeth Booth: has death date of 25 Oct 1898. In the 1850 Lamar Co. Census, Family #139, as farmer, $150, 28, m, AL.; Elizabeth S., 19, f, N.C.; Nancy E., 2/12, f, TX. Also in 1860 Lamar Co. Census, as 38, m, AL.; Elizabeth S., 29, N.C.; N.E., 10, f, TX.; Mary 6, f, TX.; Wm. F., 4, m, TX.; Richard 2, m, TX.; & J.R., 1, m, TX. See Elizabeth S.V. Campbell for full names of their children. Was born in Morgan Co. AL., & was the 2nd son of James S. Campbell (8 May 1790-1847). The mother of Wm., was Mary Stewart of VA., a daughter of James Stewart. Wm. Campbell was a farmer & served as a constable. He received his education in AL. He married Elizabeth S. Vincent in Lamar County. He served in the Indian Wars of 1840 & served two years in the Confederate Army in Capt. Rutherford's Company.

Found in the Daughters of the American Revolution Cemetery Collection compiled in 1940, parts of which were donated by the Joseph Ligon Chapter of Paris & copied by Sallie Lee Lightfoot of Paris. The book was located in the Corsicana Genealogical Library, Corsicana, TX., & copied by Betsy Mills & Elizabeth House. DAR has death of 25 Aug 1908.
