John Thomas Lamson Was born in Howard County, Indiana March 27,1848 and died in Rensselaer, Indiana October 27,1924, aged 76 years, 7 months and one day. When about one year old he came with his parents to Jasper County. His early life was spent on the farm in the Western part of Jordan Township. He moved to Rensselaer in 1916 where he has lived ever since. He was the oldest child of Daniel Skinner and Margaret Pogue Lamson.
On April 11, 1875 he was married to Elizabeth R. Smith. To this union was born one son, Ernest. He is survived by the widow and son, and two brothers, James E. of Rensselaer and William A. of Elm Creek, Nebraska. In 1870 he was united with the Presbyterian Church. Not caring for any show, his chief aim in life was to do the common things of life WELL and to be of help to his family, his friends, and his neighbors.
