Virgil D. Schultz, Sumner, IL, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at his residence. He was 73.

Born in Sumner, IL, on August 29, 1932, he was the son of John Wesley Schultz and Nellie Cochran Schultz. He married Ilene Fortney Schultz on January 21, 1956 and she survives.
He was owner/operator of Schultz Bros. Drywall Plasterers. He was a plaster all of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include one son, Edward Schultz of Olney; two daughters, Pamela Zabloudil of Sumner and Brenda Schultz of Sumner; two sisters, Georgia Dobbs of Sumner and Esther Black of Vincennes, IN; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and five brothers.

Private graveside services were held Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Sumner City Cemetery, Sumner, IL.

Memorials may be given to the Head Start Program in Bridgeport for 3-4 and 5 year olds at 1503 13th Street, Bridgeport, IL 62466.

Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL, was in charge of arrangements.
