Mrs. Sarah R. Messersmith was born December 27th, 1864, and died in the York Hospital, September 1, 1935, aged 70 years, 8 months, and 4 days.
Mrs. Messersmith was respected by all who knew her. She possessed a Christian spirit and her kind and gentle disposition made her many friends. She was baptized June 10, 1865, confirmed into membership at St. Jacob's (Stone) Reformed Church, in 1880, and remained a faithful member of the same until the time of her death. She was also a member of the Sunday School.
The funeral services were held from her late home in Glen Rock on Wednesday morning, September 4, 1935, with brief services at the house and further services at the Stone Church where burial was made. The funeral text was Rev. 2:10.
