She was the daughter of Peter Stryker and Maria Van Nortwick.
Abraham C. Brokaw was drafted into the War of 1812 (War with Great Britain) at Flaggtown or Millstone, Hillsborough Township, Somerset County. He served in Captain Abraham Ditmar's Company of Infantry, Colonel John Freylinghuysen's Third Regiment, New Jersey Detailed Militia. He enlisted Sep 12, 1814 and was discharged Dec 9, 1814. For 2 months and 23 days' service he received 8 dollars per month for a total of $21.94. He was honorably discharged at Jersey City.
