Samuel Brooks was born on the 6th day of April, A.D. 1813, in the state of North Carolina (Weaverville), and died at his son's, Marion Brooks, on the 14th day of November 1886; aged 73 yrs, 7 mo, 8 days.
He joined the United Brethren Church in 1838, was a faithful member for 48 years. He loved the church and was a liberal supporter of all her interests. He held exhorters license for many years. He was a man of principle and integrity. His wife preceded him to the heavenly land a few years ago. HIs remaining family are all arranging to meet him in the sweet by and by.
