Hargest Gabbard, 75, of Rush County, passed away at 8:35 AM, on January 9, 2009 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, IN.

Hargest was born December 24, 1933 in Oakley, KY. to Logan Gabbard and Elizabeth (Bell). He married Shirley Ann Levi on June 1, 1957, she preceeded him in death on February 2, 2007.

He owned & operated Gabbard Construction several years. He was a member of Moose Lodge & Rushville Eagles Lodge. He served in the US Marine Corp. & was a Korean War veteran.

He leaves behind Son; Eddie of Rome, GA, 3 Daughters; Cindy & husband Donald Philpot of Ft. Pierce, FL., Patricia Darlene & husband Dennis Graham of Rush County, Tammy Bennett of Connersville, Sister; Ruth Banvockenburg of Connersville, 13 Grandchildren & 8 Great grandchildren. He is preceeded by his Wife, 6 Brothers & 2 Sisters.

Military graveside rites will be observed at the cemetery.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will after 11:30 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
