Mrs. Sarah Latrelle Scott Deal
STATESBORO - Mrs. Sarah Latrelle Scott Deal, 65, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Deal was born in Chatham County to the late Raymond E. and Earline M. Scott.

She was raised in Meldrim and moved to Statesboro 30 years ago.

She retired from the Statesboro Wal-Mart and was a member of the Meldrim United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed doing crafts and cooking and was known for the best Mississippi Mud Pie and her lemon cake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Scott and her son, Robert Scott.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Franklin Deal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Hazel LaJuan and Joseph May and Leslie Marie and James E. Powell, all of Statesboro; step-sons, Terry Paul Deal of Millen and Tracey Randell Deal of Portal; step-daughter, Paula Deal Lucas Lively of Portal; grandchildren, Francesca Marie Deal, Justin Ray Watkins, Katelynne Shae Watkins, Cassie M. Powell, Michael C. Powell and Reannon Scott; step-grandchildren, Tracey Randell Deal, Zachery Deal, Cody Jones, Joseph & Robin Southwell, Dalton Lucas, Chelsie Lucas and Carrie Ann Deal; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Harry E. and Scott of Meldrim, O'Neil and Charlotte Scott of Springfield and Larry E. Scott of Ohio and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with

Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
