Born in Sharon Twp Appanoose Cnty Iowa; youngest of 12 children. Grandma loved to cook for all of us. She was a wonderful cook. Her house was always spotless. Bought home in Ottumwa in 1958. 1969 - left Iowa to go live in El Paso - by her two children Wilbur Lavern and Janet. Became one of the top Avon dealers in El Paso. She won many awards, a very hard worker. Virgie had breast cancer. She fought it for many years. She died of an acute mycardial infraction in her home in El Paso. She loved her family, her grandchildren. She had 7 grandchildren: Jean, Joyce, Denise, Suzanne Fry and Doug, Jeff and Robert Stevens. She died in El Paso, TX but returned home to Sharon Chapel for burial.
Virgie died the day before Wilbur and her wedding anniversary.

Virgie M. Fry, 62, of 5133 Bragg, El Paso, Tex., died Saturday, May 12, 1979, in El Paso.
Born in Appanoose County February 27, 1917, She was the daughter of David and Evalyn McCoy Daniels. She was married to Wilbur L. Fry in Centerville May 13, 1932, and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Lavern Fry, of Canutillo, Tex; one daughter, Janet Stevens of El Paso; two sisters, Ada Stevens and Edith Seals, both of Centerville; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters. The body is being brought to Johnson Funeral Home here, services will be Friday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Merl Grove of Ottumwa will officiate, and burial will be in Sharon Chapel Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. A memorial to Sharon Chapel Cemetery has been established.
