Nora Nevada Wages Fry, daughter of Richard and Amy Wages was born March 26, 1894, near Exline, Iowa and passed this life July 16, 1936 in the St Joseph hospital, Centerville, Iowa at the age of 42 years, 3 months and 20 days.
She moved with her parents to the state of Kansas in the early spring of 1912, and there at her home in Neodesha on April 29, 1912, she was united in marriage to Glenn M Fry. To this union 7 children were born, four daughters, Wilma, Dorothy, Doris and Alfreda and three sons: Wilbur, Alfred and another who died in infancy.
With the exception of a short time spent in Kansas, Mrs. Fry, with her husband and family had lived in the Exline community where she had endeared herself to all. In the home she was a loving wife and mother and a source of inspiration and wise counsel to each member of the family. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her for her gracious spirit of friendship and neighborliness. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Exline and enjoyed taking an active part in the different enterprises of the church.
She was preceded in death by her father last month, June 7, 1936. She leaves of her loved ones her husband G.M. Fry; her children, Mrs. Walter Daniels, near Centerville; Wilbur near Exline; Mrs. Clyde Banks near Centerville; and Doris and the twins Alfred and Alfreda at home. Also she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Amy Wages, Boulder Colorado; three brothers Fred of Boulder, Colo; and Abe and Lewis of Wray, Colo; and three grandchildren: besides there is a large number of other relatives and wide circle of friends and neighbors whose hearts are saddened by her sudden passing and whose sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church in Exline Sat., July 18, 1936 at 2:00 with her pastor, the Rev. Eugene L McClure, officiating. Scripture was taken from Romans 8 and I Thessalonians 4 and the subject of the message was "The Hope of Eternal Life."
By the request of the family Rev McClure sang "The Pearly White City" and Mrs. Charles Poffenberger and Miss Charlotte Adams sand "Mother Knows" and "Good Night and Good Morning." Miss Nore Bratschi presided at the piano.
The pallbearers, Mrs. John Lynn, Mrs. Virgil Morrow, Mrs. Paul Traxier, Miss Ada Traxier, mrs. Ed Cline and Mrs. E.L. McClure were members of the Sunday School class to which Mrs. Fry belonged.
The body was laid to rest in the Fry lot in the Exline cemetery there to await the resurrection morn.
