Christopher S. Cohick, 408 North Pitt Street, died yesterday in the Carlisle Hospital. He was 89 years old.
A son of the late Willis and Elizabeth Stout Cohick, he was born on Aug. 6, 1875, near Newville. He was a retired employe (sic) of C.H. Masland and Sons, and had been married to the late Luella May Sanderson Cohick.
Mr. Cohick was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and the Adult Bible Class of the Sunday School. He was a deacon in the church since moving to Carlisle in 1928, having been eleted to that office in the Newville Church of the Brethren in 1915.
He is survived by five sons, George S., RD3, Newville; W. Cloyd, Harrisburg; Herman E. and C. Luther, Carlisle, and Kenneth S., Whittier, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Sara E. Shenk, Carlisle, and Mrs. Mildred C. Beecher, Sacramento, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Roth Funeral Home, 169 West High Street. The Rev. Kenneth L. Miller, pastor of the First Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening at the funeral home.
