Delber Kerner was the son of William L. and Clara (Mitchl) Kerner. He was a veteran of World War II.

Delbert N. "Deb" Kerner of Greenup died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 1997 at Sarah bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Barkley Funeral Home, Greenup. Burial was made in the Greenup Cemetery with graveside military rites. Visitation was held from 6 to 7pm. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born January 26,1914 in Newton, the son of William and Clara Michl Kerner. He married Fern Anderson in 1935. She died in 1963. He married Frances Glosser in 1964. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jim of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Mike of Willow Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Delores (Dee) Bachman of Champaign, Wanda Portlock and Judy Adamson, both of Newton, two stepsons, Russell Glosser of Melbourne, Fla. and Jim Glosser of Hidalgo; five stepdaughters, Marie Tinsman of Toledo, Sandy Billingsly of Vinson, Okla., Sharon Cox of Hidalgo, Patty Yow of Charleston, and Barbara Houser of Hidalgo; one brighter, Robert Kerner of Willow Hill; one sister, Esther Shafer of Dade City, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 24 step-grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandchild.
Mr. Kerner was retired after many years with the McClane Standard Service Station in Newton. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the Newton Moose Lodge #1154, VFW Post #4598, and the Toledo American Legion.
