Benjamin Barnes (I have Leeton as his middle name in some sources and Franklin in others) was born to Shadrack and Hannah Turner Barnes (both of Rowan County, NC). (Shadrack, his father, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War) My sources say that Benjamin was 1 of 12 children. According to my sources these were his siblings: Rebecca Elizabeth, Aquilla, Philip, Sarah, James, Amos, John, Abraham Gardiner, Ellender, Thomas, and Sophia.
I have him as marrying his first wife Eleanor Stapleton about 1817 and his second wife Lucretia Sims on October 10, 1819, in Howard County, MO.
I have Benjamin's children with Eleanor Stapleton as just Shadrack. I have his children with Lucretia Sims as: William H., Julia A., Thomas, Tarlton, Tilton, Rebecca, David D., Irvin M., Elias E., Sally, and Parker.
