Corporal Keith Eric Essary, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, graduated from Dyer County High School in 2006 where he was in the Junior ROTC and a captain of the Honor Guard. He was strong willed, loved Johnny Cash and his country. He deployed to Afghanistan eight months ago as a member of the Army's Airborne unit, "Charlie" Company, the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas. Keith lived in Dyersburg all of his life and was raised in the home of his grandparent's, Anita Essary and the late Monty Glynn Essary, Sr. He had a close relationship with both his father, Chuck Hall, and his mother, Mary Beth Franks. Keith and his father enjoyed spending time together riding motorcycles. Keith received the lateral promotion from specialist to the rank of corporal, upon orders from Fort Hood, Texas, on January 13, 2009. He is survived by his mother Mary Beth Franks (Tony) of Savannah, TN, and his father Charles "Chuck" Hall (Sheri) of Dyersburg, TN; three sisters, Bethany Willard, Brooke Hall, and Taylor Clark, and a brother, Randy Hall, all of Dyersburg, TN, grandmother LTC Martha Hall and grandfather Thomas J. Hall, both of Dyersburg, TN, uncle, Monty Essary, Jr. (Shannon) of Dyersburg, TN and uncle, Ricky Hall of Memphis, TN. Keith was preceded in death by his great grandparents, E.B. and Jo Essary, William "Dude" and Dorothy Pierce, Walter and Lola Lawson, and Charles W. "Buddy" and Jeanette Hall.
