The Rev. Eino Walfred Soyring Jr., 53, Ogema, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis.

Mr. Soyring, known as Fred, was born Nov. 25, 1949, in Decatur, Ill., where he grew up and attended school. The family moved near Ogema, and he attended high school in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He moved to Fargo and worked for Fargo Foundry. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. On Nov. 21, 1970, he married LuAnne St. Claire in Callaway, Minn. They lived in Minneapolis, where he attended Compassion Bible School for two years. In 1975, they moved to Ogema. In 1977, he established his first church in Richwood, Minn. He became pastor of Northern Lights Tabernacle, Richwood, in 1982.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Jason, Jeremy, both Ogema, Jesse, Detroit Lakes; his mother, Freida Soyring, Ogema; five brothers, Darwin (Carma), Brian, both Ogema, Harold (Darlene), Hawley, Minn., Ray, Kevin, both Callaway; and two sisters, Sally (Ron) Uuris, Newton, Iowa, Pamela (Matt) Jones, Fredericksburg, Va.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 8 and one hour before the funeral, all in the church.

Funeral: Wednesday at 11 in Northern Lights Tabernacle, Richwood.

Burial: Aura Memorial Cemetery near Ogema.
