Charlie Mosley, 66, or Route 5, Clinton, the Marlow Community, died at home early this morning and was pronounced dead at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge at 4:12 a.m. Mr. Mosley had been disabled with black lung disease for 20 years.
A native of Briceville, Mr. Mosley was retired after working as a coal miner in mines in Kentucky and Tennessee.
He was a World War II Army veteran and had served in Germany with General Patton.
Mr. Mosley was a member and deacon of Shultz Hollow Baptist Church in Dutch Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Wilson Mosley; two daughters, Lynda Jean Mosley and Mary Harmon, both of Marlow; two sons, Charles Mosley, Jr, and Garry Lin Mosley, both of Frost Bottom; two sisters, Pearl Landrum of Florida and Naomi Wessels of Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
The Rev. Verlin Phillips and the Rev. Edwin Phillips will officiate at the funeral Sunday afternoon at 2 at Laurel Branch Church in Briceville. Burial will be at Circle Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 to 9 at Martin Funeral Home, Lake City
