He was born Dec. 29, 1954 in Anderson County to the late
Douglas and Anna Lou Sharp Bray.
He served as Fire Chief of the Briceville Fire Department for two years. He was employed by the Lake City Police Department as a dispatcher for 12 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Anna Lou Sharp Bray; infant daughter, Melissa Lynn Bray.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Bray; daughter, Crystal Bray; son, Matthew Bray; mother-in-law, Shirley Green, all of Lake City; sisters, Kathy West, Knoxville, Robin and husband, Tommy Burress of Coalfield; brothers, Harold Bray, Lake City, Danny Bray and wife, Judy, Briceville, Tommy Bray and wife, Judy, Knoxville, Randell Bray, Patrick "Pat" Bray, Kirk Bray and wife Tina, Clifford Bray and wife, Marika, all of Lake City; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many special friends.
Funeral services were March 14 at Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Jeryl Barnette, Rev. Houston Carroll and Rev. Verlin Sharp officiating.
Singers were Ann Wilson, Brenda Tinker, Patricia Childs, Tracey Barnette and Becky West. Music was by Matthew Jarnigan.
Interment was in the Circle Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Bray, Jeremy Bray, Jonathan Bray, Doug Burress, Jimmy Stevens, Jackie Smith, Robert Pyle and Thomas Miles. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
