Dr. Beattie enjoyed helping to plan yearly class reunions. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, often commenting on how blessed he felt. Dr. Beattie spent six months of the year living in Lakeland, Fla. While there he was active in a men's choral group that visited nursing homes each week and Charles A. He enjoyed family gatherings at his daughter Beth's Wilson Lake home. There were cookouts by the pool and movie nights. Dr. and Mrs. Beattie enjoyed daily trips out for breakfast with their daughter Tirzah and her husband Dave. He also especially enjoyed the weekly popcorn night on Sundays with his family.
