Mrs. Mary Lence Bryant, 64, of Ripley, died Thursday morning at Tippah County Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at her home. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Bryant was a former nurse at Tippah County Hospital, having worked for the late Dr. J.E. Tate, and one of the first nurses to be employed at the Tippah County Hospital, and worked there until her first heart attack forced her to retire in 1968.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday from McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce Cappleman and Rev. Arlin Richardson were in charge. Burial was in Tippah Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Palmer Baptist Church.
She leaves her husband, Leonard Bryant; one sister, Mrs. Vance White; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Lence and Mrs. Gladye Lence, all of Ripley; 10 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jackie Lence, Allen Lence, Kenneth Lence, Gene Daniels, Darrell Crawford, and Carol Bryant.
