Passed Away Last Evening at His Home on 10th Street.
Mr. William Michael Branner died at his home at 104 North Tenth street last evening at 8:20 o'clock. He became unconscious in his shop at 10th and Market streets last evening at 7 o'clock and was removed to his home, where the end came at the time stated, the deceased never having regain consciousness.
Mr. Branner was a native or Tennessee and was in the 56th year of his age. He formerly resided in Knoxville, latter removing to Charlotte, and from that city removing to Wilmington in 1912. He had been married twice, and in addition to his widow is survived by eight children, five sons and three daughters, as follows: Messrs. Sanford, Joe L., E. F., William A., and John Casper Branner, and Misses Elsie Mattie and Alice May Branner. All of the children are here with the exception of Miss Elsie Mattie and Alice May Branner, who is in School Knoxville, Tenn., and who was advised by telegram of her father's death. She will come to Wilmington for the funeral.
Mr. Branner was a man of most admirable traits of character, and had made many friends since coming to Wilmington, all of whom will tenderly sympathize with the bereaved members of his family. The funeral arrangements had not been decided upon last night, and will be announced later.
