Jackson Haywood Bradley was the son of Samuel A. Bradley, Jr. (b. 1800 SC, died 1846 Cass Co., GA) and Susannah Ponder (b. 1806 York Co., SC, died 1890 Bartow Co., GA).

He married Lucinda Wilson Brooksher (b. abt. 1832 SC). They had ten children.

He is buried next to his son, Thomas M. Bradley, and very near his son-in-law Joseph Shelton Crook who married Jackson's daughter Mary Josephine Bradley.
