Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Reynolds funeral home. Rev. James Hagerty, Methodist minister will officiate. Burial will be in the Round Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
She was born in Pitcairn, N.Y., April 6, 1868, to the late Ezra and Sarah Phelps. She came to the Morrison area when she was 17 and resided here since. On June 2, 1886, she married Edgar Houseman, who died in 1947. She was a member of Round Grove Thimble club and in World War I was one of the top knitters for the Red Cross.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ward (Leta) Lewis, near Morrison; three sons, Floyd of Sterling, Fred of Morrison, Kenneth of Clinton; one brother, Frank of Harrisville, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jesse; one grandchild, one great-grandchild, one sister. Mrs. Elizabeth Garrison, and three brothers, Elmer, Fred and Jesse Phelps.
