In the presence of 150 friends and relatives, Miss Laree Butt, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Rynold Butt, became the bride of Jay Gee of Palmer [NE] at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Martin Schabacker Jr., using the double ring ceremony.
Preceding the service, Miss Loris Ann Hake played soft organ music and Mrs. M. Schabacker sang "Because". Following the ceremony she sang "The Lord's Prayer".
Miss Butt came down the aisle on the arm of her father, to the strains of Lohengrin's Wedding march, and met the groom at the altar.
The bride chose for her wedding, a gown of white satin, with a lace trimmed veil, and carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid and stephanotis love knots.
Miss Bette Baumeister, as maid of honor, wore a pale blue taffeta gown, a yellow lace picture hat, and carried bronze mums and daisies.
Miss Betty Gee, sister of the groom, lighted the seven branched candelabra.
She wore a gown of dusty rose and had a wrist bouquet of roses and mums.
The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvan Gee of Palmer [NE] wore a navy blue suit.
Milton Suck of Palmer, as the groom's best man, wore a suit of grey.
Louis Butt, brother of the bride and Dick Gee, brother of the groom, were ushers. Each wore white carnation boutonnieres.
The young couple left the altar to the strains of Mendelson wedding march.
A reception immediately following the ceremony was held in the church parlor.
Mrs. Omer Eckles cut the wedding cake, Mrs. Paul Tyler poured the coffee and Mrs. Lyle Nickel of Grand Island [NE] poured the punch. Miss Pauline DeMoss of Omaha [NE] had charge of the guest book and Miss Ernestine Butt and Mrs. Milton Suck welcomed the guests.
Mrs. Gee chose as her going away costume, a brown faille suit with matching green accessories.
After an extended wedding trip in the west, Mr. and Mrs. Gee will be at home on a farm four miles southwest of St. Paul [NE], as the groom is engaged in farming.
