Our little city has much saddened February 3 by receiving a telegram from Tampa telling us of the death of one of our dear friends, Miss Emily Read, of typhoid fever She lived among us since childhood until a year ago. They moved to Tampa and, then February 4, we received another telegram saying that Miss Marion Blount in the same house with Miss Read was also ded of the same fever. They brough her remains here Saturday night and Sunday afternoon she was buried in the Joshua Creek Cemetery. I think it was one of the saddest funerals I ever attended.
