Mr. Loyd J. Chesteen, 81, of Denham Springs, La., died of heart failure Jan. 29, 2002 at Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. He was a retired Pentacostal evangelist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Vera Chesteen.
Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Winona. Burial was at French Camp Cemetery in French Camp iwth Rev. Louis Sullivan and Rev. Holley Tennison officiating.
Mr. Chesteen is survived by two daughters, Helen Slaughter of Brandon, Glinder Foreman of Montgomery, Ala.; two sons, Charles Chesteen of Denham Springs, La., David Chesteen of Patterson, La.; three sisters, Louise Boyett, Vera Henson, both of Baton Rouge, La., Betty Ruth Crouch of Winona; 11
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Barry Stubbs, Chuck Chesteen, Jeremy Chesteen, John Chesteen, B. J. Waguespack, Doug Hollier.
Lee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
