Paul E. Abel, 75, of 117 Dorianne Drive, Willow Street, died Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center following a brief illness.
He was married 53 years to Jane Arlene Martin Abel.
Born in Conestoga, he was the son of the late Charlie A. and Edna Ehrhart Abel.
He retired from the Hursh Painting Co., Inc. of Talmage in 1996 after 12 years of employment. Earlier in life he had worked at Queen Dairy for 18 years.
He was a member and former trustee of the Conestoga United Methodist Church. He was a 1946 graduate of Penn Manor High School. He was a member of the Willow Street Fire Co. and the Willow Street Ambulance.
He enjoyed fishing and reading.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Deborah A. wife of Dennis H. Rineer of Willow Street, and Jody L. wife of Paul H. Harnish of Strasburg. Also surviving is a grandson Matthew A. Rineer, a granddaughter Laura J. Rineer, and a sister, Janet wife of Robert Wilson of New Danville.
