There, he married Violet Martin, and was step-father to her four children by a prior marriage, as well as a son, Harold, Jr., who died in 1942, and twin sons who were born in 1943. One twin died shortly after birth. The other son survives as of 2009.
Harold, or "Bear" as he was commonly called, worked as a laborer at the Loveland Lumber Yard for many years, and was a skilled carpenter.
When he died in 1979, he was buried in the old family plot at Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
