Homer W. Mays, Burlington, Kan., died Dec. 20, 2005, at Life Care Center of Burlington. He was 91.
   He was born Feb. 21, 1914 at Olivet, the son of Herman and Olive Bazil Mays.
   He married Gladys Decker Aug. 12, 1939 in Burlington.
   He worked as a pipe fitter in the Kansas City area until he was injured. After that he farmed. He and Gladys lived on a farm east of Burlington until the 1951 flood and then moved to their present home on the west side of Burlington.
   He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Floyd, Henry and Gene Mays; and three sisters, Tilda Sanders, Pearl Miller and Erma McBee.
   Survivors include his wife, Gladys Mays, Burlington; a sister, Minnie Ruby, Burlington; nephews and nieces.
   Services were held Thursday morning, Dec. 22, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Burlington. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Burlington.
