Thomas Wiley Evans was the son of Rev. John & Susannah (Prather) Evans. On 4/9/1818 he married Amanda Anny Dabney Martin in Bath County, KY. Around 1825 the couple moved to Indiana. They became the parents of 11 children. Amanda died in Russellville, IN 9/27/1847.
Thomas then went to southern Iowa, probably to be near some of his children who were living in Iowa. In 1849 he remarried Mary T. Davis at Winterset, IA. The couple moved to Henry County, IA and remained there until their deaths.
