Albert John Dresden, owner of the A. J. Dresden Wholesale Company, died unexpectedly at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the family home in Arbor Heights.

In 1950 Mr. Dresden suffered a stroke. Since 1956 he had been unable to continue his work and had been confined to his home. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemmorhage.

Born at Mineral Point, Wis., March 1, 1896, the son of Jacob and Margaret Dresden, both deceased, he attended school at Beloit, Wis.

In 1916 he came to Nebraska and began work for the Union Pacific Railroad at Omaha. On May 1, 1915, he was married to Lorena Bellows of McCool Junction, who survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Dresden opened a dry cleaning establishment in Holdredge in 1920, after Mr. Dresden was discharged from the U. S. Army following World War I.

In 1921 he began work for the Charles M. Sledd Wholesale Mercantile Company in York as a salesman. In 1927 he became manager of the concern. Ten years later he bought the wholesale business which assumed his name.

Mr. Dresden was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, the B.P.O Elks, and the American Legion.

Surviving besides his widow, Lorena, are three children, Mrs. Russell (Alice Mae) Pickrel of York, Mrs. R. B. (Jean Elizabeth) Rainey of Minneapolis, Minn., and Richard A. Dresden of York; a sister, Mrs. G. C. Loomis, Beloit, Wis., and two grandchildren, Russell Robert Pickrel and Genevieve Kelley Dresden.
