LYNDON- Lucille M. Neilson, 88, passed away on January 2, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Lucille was born on February 29, 1920 near Lyndon, the daughter of Herman and Mary Hepner Miller.

Lucille had lived most her life in and around Lyndon. Lucille was a 1939 graduate of Lyndon High School, following which she taught grade school for two years.

On March 22, 1941 Lucille married Clyde Neilson in Lawrence and then she became a homemaker.

She was a member of the Methodist Church. Lucille was proud that she was a leap year baby and liked to say she had only had 22 real birthdays.

Lucille was preceded in death by her brother Wallace Miller and her three sisters, Fern Miller, Ruby Kaff and Helen Kaff.

Lucille is survived by her husband Clyde of the home, her two daughters, Connie Coffman (Chuck) of Lenexa, Phyllis Knight (Gary) of Lyndon, her sister, Lorraine Gillan of Burlington, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lucille will be at 1:30p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.

She will lie in state from 4:00-8:00p.m. on Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00p.m.

Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or the Osage City United Methodist Church.
