Nelson's second marriage was to Eunice K. Talcott

Nelson son of John and Sarah (Broad) Tuttle

Nelson Tuttle, for nearly half a century an honored resident of Ionia County, died at 4:30 p'clock on Monday morning, at his farm home three miles southeast of Ionia. Mr. Tuttle came to Ionia County in the spring of 1846 and bought a farm in Ionia Township, adjoining the one which has been his homestead for many years and where he died.

He leaves a widow-his second wife, who is a sister of D.C, and Rev. R.C. Crawford, and six children, Phebe, wife of Erie LeValley; Eliza, wife of Stewart Townsend; Almon; Sarah, wife of Wm. Adgate; Mary, wife of Lewis Ferguson, and Martha, wife of J.H. Benedict. These all live in Ionia Township, except Mrs. Benedict, who resides in Orange.

Mr. Tuttle was a prominent and consistent member of the M.E. Church for half a century and was most generous in his contributions for church and all charitable purposes. He gave largely towards the construction of the LeValley Church in his neighborhood, and has been officially indentified with the church since his residence here. His life esemplified his faith in Christian precepts.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon, and was very largely attended. Rev. Albert Smith of Orange, preached the sermon and he was assisted in the exercises by Rev. R.C. Crawford, Rev. A.P. Moors, Rev. A.M. Gould, and Rev. F.A. VanDeWalker. Interment in Tuttle Cemetery.
