Russell Wayne Bryant, 78, of Las Cruces, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004. He was born March 2, 1926 in Burkburnett, TX to E.T. and Lola Barker Bryant.

Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served his country honorably. He was a retired farmer from Muleshoe, TX and also sold cars and was an insurance agent for the Farm Bureau. Russell had a passion for golf and fishing and was a member of the Christian community for most of his life. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him.

He wass survived by his wife of 31 years Bettie Bryant of the family home; children Michael Bryant and wife Vicki, Debbie Hurt and husband Steve, Diane Actkinson and husband Johnny, Kim Shelton and husband Wade all of Texas and Janice and husband Dr. Norman Harrison of Las Cruces; brother Don Bryant and wife Mary Anna of Texas; grandchildren Dr. Robert Harrison, Derek, Tory, Heather, Haley, Bethany, Jeff, Greg, Jill, Lacey, Jake, MacKenzie and Tyler also by 5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were held at Getz Funeral Home with Rev. Loyd Cain officiating. Burial followed at the Masonic Cemetery. The US Navy and the Marine Corp League of Las Cruces will provide military honors.

Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Bryant's family.
