Violet Ann Lamar DeBusk was born in 1842 Abington, VA to John Lamar and Sally Smock Lamar. She married James E. DeBusk who died as a prisoner of war in 1864 in the War between the States. They were blessed with two daughters, Nila J. DeBusk and Sara E. DeBusk. She married a second time to James Hilry Harrell in 1866 , Jonesville, VA. She and Hilry were blessed with several children: James Lafett Herrell, William Marin Harrell, Anna Lena Harrell, Junior Harrell, Lovey Louiza Harrell, Charles Jasper Harrell, Harriet Etta Harrell, Marthie Virginia Ella Harrell & John B. Floyd Harrell. Violet Lamar DeBusk Harrell is buried in the Desdemona Cemetery in Desdemona, TX in Eastland County.
