Carmen Charlene Gorham, Ypsilanti, MI
Age 56, died July 19, 2008 at her residence. She was born November 18, 1951, in Williamson, WV, the daughter of Garcie and Claytor (Campbell) McCoy. On December 27, 1969, she married Douglas Michael Gorham at the home of her parents. Mrs. Gorham was employed as a computer programmer with Bechtel Co., in Ann Arbor, MI. She loved nature; going for walks through the woods and just being outdoors. She will always be remembered for her enjoyment of spending time with friends and loved being with her granddaughter, Aleigh. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Erik and Nancy Gorham; one granddaughter, Aleigh Gorham all of Canton; one sister, Erma (Mike) Waldon of Ypsilanti; her stepfather, Homer McCoy of Inverness, FL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Myra Kay McCoy and one brother, Garcie Charles McCoy. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10 a. m. at the Janowiak Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti, MI. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p. m. Please bring a picture to share as there will be Memory Boards available.
