BENTON — George T. Colson, 78, of Benton died at 6:25 p.m. Saturday at his home.
Mr. Colson was a a member and deacon for over 40 years at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. He was retired from the safety department at B.F. Goodrich in Calvert City.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky Snow of Benton; two sons, Steve Colson of Humboldt, Tenn., and Tracey Colson of Benton; one sister, Betty Wilson of Benton; two brothers, Hermon Colson and Paul Colson, both of Benton; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Mr. Colson was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Roberson Colson; two brothers; and one sister. His parents were Gilbert Colson and Monico Haynes Colson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Collier Funeral Home in Benton with the Revs. Ray Lewis and Haynes Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Ferguson Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
