OBITUARY-THE DORCHESTER STAR
MARCH 9, 1944

Sarah Elizabeth Britton, daughter of James and Elmira Britton was born August 30, 1885, on a farm south of Dorchester and passed to her eternal home at Warren memorial hospital in Friend, March 2, 1944 at the age of 58 years, six months and two days.
On November 7, 1909 she was united in marriage to Bert Mason. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Velma Hansen of Dorchester.
She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Velma, two granddaughters, Myrna Lee and Ruth Hansen, her step-mother, Mrs. Belle Britton; one uncle, Amos Britton; a sister, Mrs. Florence Kline, of Los Angeles, California; one brother, Gilbert Britton, of Colon, Oregon, one half-sister, Mrs. William Sanburn and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Mason were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev. Ford A. Ellis, assisted by Rev. G. W. Snyder in charge of the service. Burial was in the Dorchester cemetery.
Among those who attended the funeral services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mason and Mrs. Mable Mason and Miss Stella Mason, all of Seward, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Crain of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mason of Geneva, Mrs. Charles Ashton, Geneva, Mrs. Jack Johnson and son and Mrs. Elmer Thompson of Friend.
